Casa de Pedra is the ideal retreat for those who want to escape city madness and return to nature. The area is incredibly peaceful and has much to offer if you want to walk, cycle, swim, angle or simply relax in the garden.
The Ribatejo region has traditionally been an agricultural area with many vineyards. The river Tagus and Zêzere flow through the area and the latter was flooded in the '50s to create Castelo do Bode, a huge reservoir that provides water to most of the Lisbon area.
Above the dam the Castelo do Bode lake lies nestled in a valley full of pine and eucalyptus forests dotted with isolated villages.The valley is a secluded area popular for boating, fishing and watersports
Being Portugal, it can be quite wet but the climate is generally quite mild although July and August can get quite hot.

The house is right by the Lake Castelo do Bode (Castle of the Billygoat) .The area is very green and the countryside is extremely peaceful. There are plenty of fluvial beaches - the water is very clean, ideal for swimming and certainly good for cooling off in the summer. There are also many tracks ideal for cyclists and walkers and certainly a good way to explore the surrounding area.

Most budget airlines fly into Lisboa and Porto (Easyjet, Monarch Airlines, Ryanair, Air Berlin, German Wings, Vueling, etc.). Casa de Pedra is best reached by car, so the best solution is to hire a car at the airport. Most hire car companies are represented in both airports and cheap deals can be found easily on the internet.
If coming from Lisbon, take the A1 north.
Exit at km93 for A23 for Torres Novas.
Take exit for IC3 in the direction of Tomar
