| Home description |
The Byre is the first of the cottages that was bought. When purchased in 1993, the building was a complete ruin, with only a few walls remaining about one foot high. The cottage took a little over a year to re-build.
The restoration was done after much research into what the original building looked like, both inside and out. The cottage was awarded a plaque from the Turkish Ministry Of Tourism & Culture for “Sympathetic Restoration Of Turkish Heritage” of which the owners Sandy & Jon Carter are justifiably proud.
The cottage is situated at the highest point at the western end of the Kaya valley, with stunning views in all directions.

Further details indoors: The interior of the cottage consists of a hallway cut into the rock leading onto the kitchen on one side and the master double bedroom, with en suite bathroom on the other.
Leading off the fully fitted kitchen is a very large lounge with a traditional log burning stove, for use in the winter months. The lounge has a balcony area which has two single beds. This type of house design was very common in the area in the 19th. century.
The kitchen looks out onto a walled patio garden. Over the years the flower beds have become well established and shade is provided by some beautiful trees and a covered pergola. Total privacy is assured as the pool is accessed by steps through a gate leading up through the garden.
The washing machine mentioned is located at one of our other cottages but is available for all our guests to use.

Further details outdoors: The terraced garden is completely private and secluded. The shared plunge pool and kosk (wooden Ottoman saeting area) is a ten second walk above the garden. |

We normally request a 50% non refundable deposit to secure and confirm bookings. We request the balance be paid please, one month prior to arrival.
We can arrange airport transfers and car hire for our guests.

The Byre has a traditional balcony above the lounge. There are two single beds located on the balcony, suitable for teenagers. October - June we charge Gbp. 35.00 per bed used per week and in the three high season months, Gbp. 50.00 per bed per week. As there is only one ensuite bathromm in the cottage, the single beds would only be suitable for use by family members.
